Way Out West

Known as the world class festival in the 137 hectare Slottsskogen park in central Gothenburg by day, and “Stay Out West” after-hour gigs populating the city by night, the Way Out West festival is one not to be missed. Growing to host a variety of internationally touring bands mainly in the rock, electronic and hip-hop genres, the event started in 2007 in Slottsskogen.

Today, the festival not only plays host to music, but also art exhibits and films around the city. With a heavy focus on being environmentally friendly, Way Out West has won numerous festival awards such as Gyllene Hjulet’s 2012 Rights Holder for the Way Out West brand, Resumé’s Monthly Outdoor Marketing Campaign, as well as the Most Innovative Festival at the MTV O Music Awards.
